Adviser Training
We facilitate experiential learning activities, using case studies based on real life examples.
Our “high care | high contact | high challenge” approach is designed to re-shape mature professional attitudes to better suit modern advisory practice, and help to build a community of trustworthy, collaborative advisers.
Our 12 month modular training program is designed around 3 levels of Certification and Accreditation. Each progressive level of accreditation requires satisfactory completion of all preceding modules.
The Program comprises 6 days of face-to-face workshops, 4 workshop days that can be attended in-person or online, and at least 2 more days of individual and small group work based on real life case studies. Each module is supported by extensive reading materials and take away practice resources.
Modules can be undertaken as standalone skills development / CPD activities.
We also offer a 2 day in-house workshop: Introduction to Family Business Advisory.
Adviser knowledge and skills are maintained and enhanced through Continuing Professional Development Programs (CPD) and regular Network Events.
CPD Programs
CPD Workshops are offered throughout the year, covering: Human Skills, Professional Skills, Personal Skills, and Advisory Skills, based on demand.
Accredited members must complete at least two days of relevant CPD each year, in addition to participation in adviser community network activities. Costs are covered by IQ Academy subscriptions. FBIA Members pay for whatever training they choose.
Members can attend appropriate training elsewhere to cover CPD requirements.

- FBIA Training and Certification (ad hoc) – for advisers who want to enhance their knowledge and skills without connecting to FBIA or IQ Academy networks. No ongoing obligations or costs. Certification and logos are awarded for completed modules.
- FBIA Membership – Training, Certification & Accreditation, ongoing CPD at cost, directory listing (FBIA profile page), coaching support, and engagement support on request at agreed cost. Ongoing membership commitments and benefits.
- FBIA + IQ Academy Membership – Training, Certification, Accreditation, 2 days ongoing CPD included, IQC Network Activities and Meetings, coaching and mentoring support, engagement support on request at agreed cost, active IQC Marketing for adviser referrals and Advisory Board placements. Ongoing membership commitments and benefits.
